Chapter 10 - The Horizon

The auditorium on the ground floor of Vance Technologies headquarters was packed to capacity. Hundreds of employees, international journalists, industry analysts, and television crews filled the tiered seating, their cameras aimed eagerly toward the brightly lit stage.
A massive gold-and-black banner hung behind the podium. Unlike the one from that fateful night months ago—which had celebrated a hollow, fragile coronation—this banner read simply and powerfully: VANCE TECHNOLOGIES — INNOVATION, INTEGRITY, FUTURE.
As I walked out from behind the side curtains, stepping up to the grand podium beneath the blaze of studio lights, the entire auditorium erupted into spontaneous, thunderous applause. Five hundred people stood up, clapping not out of fear, obligation, or corporate politics, but out of genuine respect.
I stood at the podium for a moment, looking out across the sea of faces. I thought back to where I had been standing months ago: kneeling on the cold marble floor at the bottom of that very stage, listening to Julian’s arrogant laughter echo through the ballroom as he shouted at me to know my place.
How little he had understood.

I adjusted the microphone, smiled warmly at the crowd, and began to speak.
“Good morning,” I said, my voice steady, clear, and resonant across the auditorium. “Welcome to the next chapter of Vance Technologies. Let’s get to work.”
